About Jal Mahal ki Pal
Jal Mahal, the 'water palace', stands in the middle of Man Sagar Lake on the road from Jaipur to Amer. It was built around 1699 and enlarged in the 18th century; the palace interior is closed to general visitors, so the experience is the view from the kilometre-long lakefront promenade, Jal Mahal ki Pal. In the evening the promenade fills with snack stalls, camel rides and souvenir sellers. The tourism department's Kite Festival on Makar Sankranti, 14 January, has been staged here in recent years, with kite-flying displays and folk performances, and endurance events such as the Jaipur Ultra Marathon, listed for 1 November 2026, start from the lake.
