Teej Festival 2027 in Jaipur: Teej Mata Procession Guide
Hariyali Teej 2027 falls on Wednesday 4 August, according to Drik Panchang, and Jaipur's Teej procession is traditionally taken out on that evening and the next. Rajasthan Tourism had not published its 2027 Teej dates when this page was written; in 2026 it listed the festival on 15 and 16 August. Teej welcomes the monsoon and is dedicated to Parvati, known here as Teej Mata. Women dress in green and in striped lehariya saris, apply henna, sing on garden swings and pray for their husbands' well-being. The public face of the festival is the royal procession: Teej Mata's palanquin leaves City Palace and winds through Tripolia Bazaar and Chhoti Chaupar on both days, accompanied by camels, folk dancers, royal palanquins, chariots and bullock carts, according to Rajasthan Tourism. Chaugan Stadium, near the end of the route, is a traditional venue for the festivities. Ghewar is the sweet of the season, and halwais across the old city stack it high from late July. Expect rain or humid heat, large crowds and closed roads in the walled city. This page lists Teej processions, melas, lehariya exhibitions and monsoon events in Jaipur.

Good to know
- Confirm the procession dates with Rajasthan Tourism in July 2027. They follow the Hindu calendar and are announced each year.
- Use the metro to Chhoti Chaupar or Badi Chaupar. The procession route is closed to vehicles from the afternoon.
- Carry a small umbrella. Teej falls in the monsoon and showers are common.
- Stand between Tripolia Gate and Chhoti Chaupar for the best view, and arrive at least an hour early.
- Buy ghewar fresh on the day. The malai version does not keep well.
