Things to do in Johari Bazaar

Johari Bazaar runs south from Badi Chaupar to Sanganeri Gate and is the jewellers' street its name promises: gemstones, kundan and meenakari work, silver and bridal sets, with cutters and wholesalers in the side lanes of Gopalji ka Rasta and Haldiyon ka Rasta. Hawa Mahal stands just north of the square. Sweet shops and old eating houses on the main road draw their own queues, and in Diwali week the arcades are strung with lights from end to end. Many shops stay shut on Sundays, so check before a shopping trip. Badi Chaupar metro station opens directly onto the bazaar; parking nearby is scarce.
