Things to do in MI Road

Mirza Ismail Road, always shortened to MI Road, is the city's main commercial street outside the walls. It runs west from Sanganeri Gate and Ajmeri Gate past the Panch Batti crossing to the Government Hostel junction near Khasa Kothi. Jewellery showrooms, old restaurants, lassi shops and bookshops line it, and Raj Mandir, the single-screen cinema that opened in 1976, is a few steps off the main road on Bhagwan Das Road. The whole stretch is lit for Diwali. The lawns of the Khasa Kothi hotel host the tourism department's Dhulandi celebration on Holi. Parking is tight; Sindhi Camp is the nearest metro station.
