About Nahargarh Fort
Nahargarh Fort crowns the Aravalli ridge directly above the walled city. Sawai Jai Singh II built it mainly in 1734, and Sawai Madho Singh later added Madhavendra Bhawan, a palace of matching suites linked by frescoed corridors. The palace now houses the Sculpture Park, a state-backed gallery of contemporary Indian and international sculpture. The fort area also has a wax museum and mirror hall, open from 10 am to 6:30 pm, and terrace cafés that look down on the whole city grid. Sunset is the busiest hour. Trail races such as the Nahargarh Hill Marathon, listed for 1 November 2026, use the forest road, and heritage walks climb the old footpath from the city.
