Things to do in Amer
1 events in amer across Jaipur โ mostly festival (1).
Amer, about 11 km north of the centre, was the Kachhwaha capital before Jaipur was built. Amber Fort, begun in 1592 by Raja Man Singh I, is part of the Hill Forts of Rajasthan World Heritage listing of 2013, and Jaigarh Fort on the ridge above it holds the Jaivana cannon. Events here trade on the setting: an evening light and sound show below the fort at Kesar Kyari, night visits to the palace, the Jaipur Literature Festival's heritage evening, and winter music and heritage festivals at Jaigarh. The town has the Panna Meena stepwell and the Anokhi Museum of Hand Printing. Go early; the fort road jams by mid-morning.
