Best Live Music & Comedy Venues in Jaipur (2026 Guide)

Updated 2026-10-12 · 6 min read · by the jaipur2go team

Jaipur’s live scene is smaller than Delhi’s or Mumbai’s, but it is easy to read. There is one dedicated comedy club, a government arts centre that stages music and theatre for free most weeks, a convention centre on the edge of town for arena-sized shows, and a handful of bars and studios in between. This guide covers the venues that actually have shows on the calendar for late 2026 and early 2027, what each is good for and how to get there. For what is on right now, see our music listings and comedy listings.

Comedy

Jaipur Comedy Club

The city’s one full-time stand-up room is in a basement on JLN Marg, just behind World Trade Park. Listings for October to December 2026 show a touring comic or a two-comic line-up on most weekends, with shows on Saturday and Sunday evenings, usually at 7 pm and sometimes with a second slot at 9 pm. Shows run about 90 minutes. Acts on the calendar include Angad Singh Ranyal, Aditya Gundeti, Peeyush Kumar and Gaurav Baisla. It is a compact club, so book ahead for known names, arrive 15 to 20 minutes early for a good seat, and expect an age limit of 16+ or 18+ and a strict no-recording rule. The mall next door solves dinner. Full details are on our Jaipur Comedy Club page.

The auditoriums

When a comic outgrows a club, Jaipur promoters move the show to a hall. Four are in regular use:

  • Indralok Auditorium, in the Digamber Jain Nasiyan complex at Narain Singh Circle. A Vipul Goyal show was listed here in October 2026.
  • Maharana Pratap Auditorium, on the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Vidyashram campus off JLN Marg.
  • Birla Auditorium at Statue Circle, one of the city’s largest seated houses, which also takes theatrical productions and concerts.
  • Rajasthan International Centre in Jhalana, whose smaller halls suit longer runs. A stand-up show is listed there on Sunday evenings from late December 2026 into January.

The biggest tours skip the city centre altogether and book a hall at JECC; a comedy night is listed in Hall 2 on 15 November 2026.

Bars and small rooms

Two bars have become regular stops for touring comics and storytellers. Bottles and Chimney, in a heritage haveli on Gayatri Marg in Bani Park, has a stand-up night listed for 31 October 2026. Strings, a cocktail lounge on Sanjay Marg off MI Road, hosts early-evening storytelling and comedy shows. Both are small, both check ID, and both are within reach of Sindhi Camp metro station, which is rare for a Jaipur venue.

Open mics

The cheapest ticket in town is the Jaipur Open Mic at Gypsy Monkey on Station Road, near Sindhi Camp. It runs on Sunday from 11 am and takes every format: poetry, storytelling, spoken word, singing, stand-up, rap and mono-acting. Performers get up to eight minutes, and tickets for the October 2026 edition were listed from ₹99 to ₹299. Our open mic page lists the next ones, along with how to sign up.

Live music

Jawahar Kala Kendra: the free option

If you only remember one venue, make it Jawahar Kala Kendra. The Charles Correa-designed arts centre on JLN Marg puts on music in its Rangayan auditorium most weeks. The October 2026 calendar alone includes a festival dedicated to Indian classical music, an evening in the guru-shishya tradition, a programme of Kishore Kumar duets and an evening of Bollywood songs, starting at 5 pm or 6 pm, and the calendar states that entry to every programme is free.

JKK’s flagship is Lokrang, the national folk dance and crafts festival, which runs from 27 October to 6 November 2026. Troupes perform every evening from 7 pm to 10 pm on the open-air Madhyavarti stage. It is the best place in the city to hear Rajasthani folk music played for an audience that knows it. See our Lokrang page.

JECC: the arena

The Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre in Sitapura is where the city’s largest indoor shows are staged. A Shreya Ghoshal tour date is listed there for 30 January 2027, with tickets from ₹1,000 to ₹10,000. JECC is about 18 km from the walled city, with no metro, so leave at least 75 minutes before doors and book your return cab before the show ends.

Malls, lawns and forts

Promoters also use open spaces. Pacific Mall on VT Road in Mansarovar has a Lakhwinder Wadali concert listed for 12 December 2026. The lawns of Entertainment Paradise near Jawahar Circle are booked for garba nights in Navratri and for winter concerts and parties. And in December the ramparts of Jaigarh Fort host the Jaigarh Heritage Festival, listed from 18 December 2026 with passes from ₹2,499.

The Jaipur Music Stage

For three evenings each January, the Jaipur Literature Festival adds a music programme at Hotel Clarks Amer. In 2027 the Jaipur Music Stage runs from 14 to 16 January and is ticketed separately from the literature festival. The 2026 edition featured acts such as Thaikkudam Bridge, Parvaaz and Raman Negi, which gives a sense of its range. The 2027 line-up had not been published when this guide was written. Our Jaipur Literature Festival guide has the rest.

Small rooms

12notez, a music studio and jam room on Mansarovar Link Road, opens to audiences for small gigs and open mics; an English Open Mic Night is listed for 31 October 2026. Cafés and hostels around Civil Lines, Bani Park and C-Scheme run jam evenings and mehfils on weekends, usually for a ticket of a few hundred rupees.

Folk music with dinner

For visitors, the easiest way to hear Rajasthani folk musicians on any night of the week is Chokhi Dhani, the village resort on Tonk Road, where performers play through the evening fair. It is a tourist format, but the musicians are the real thing.

Clubs and DJ nights

Jaipur’s club scene is thin and spread out. Rooftops and lounges in C-Scheme carry most weekend DJ nights, and The Garrison on Sikar Road, in the north of the city, launched a new series in October 2026 with the electronic producer Gurbax.

Practical tips

  • Book early for small rooms. The comedy club and the bars hold limited audiences, and weekend shows sell out.
  • Carry ID. Comedy shows are usually 16+ or 18+, and bars check age at the door.
  • Check the language. Most stand-up here is in Hindi or Hinglish. The listing says which.
  • Plan the ride home. Only the Bani Park and MI Road rooms are near a metro station. Autos thin out after 10 pm on JLN Marg and are scarce at Sitapura.
  • Dress for winter lawns. Outdoor shows from November to February get cold after 9 pm.
