New Year's Eve 2026 in Jaipur: Where to Party and How to Plan
Updated 2026-10-12 ยท 7 min read ยท by the jaipur2go team
New Year’s Eve 2026 is a Thursday, and Jaipur is one of the most popular places in North India to spend it. The parties fall into four types: gala dinners at palace and five-star hotels, stay-and-party packages at the resorts around Kukas and on Ajmer Road, club and rooftop nights in the city, and family evenings at village-style resorts. Most organisers announce line-ups and prices from late November, so this guide explains how each type works, what else is on that week and how to get home. Confirmed parties appear on our New Year’s Eve hub as they are announced.
The four kinds of New Year’s Eve in Jaipur
| Type | Where | Who it suits | What to expect | Getting home |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hotel gala | Palace hotels, Jawahar Circle, Tonk Road | Couples, families, visitors | Buffet dinner, live band, folk acts, countdown | Short cab ride; valet parking |
| Resort package | Kukas (Delhi highway), Ajmer Road | Groups, out-of-town visitors | Room, gala dinner, DJ, sometimes brunch next day | Stay over; 20โ25 km from the centre |
| Club or rooftop night | C-Scheme, Malviya Nagar, Tonk Road, Sikar Road | Friends, younger crowd | DJ, cover charge, couple and stag pricing | Cab; book ahead |
| Village-resort evening | Chokhi Dhani, Tonk Road | Families with children | Folk performances, rides, Rajasthani dinner | Keep your cab; about 20 km out |
Hotel galas
Jaipur’s palace hotels and large five-stars build their year around this night. A typical gala is a ticketed dinner on a lawn or in a ballroom with a live band or DJ, Rajasthani folk performers, a buffet and a midnight countdown, priced per person or per couple and often sold with a room. The hotels around Jawahar Circle, on Tonk Road and in Rambagh are the most central. Rooms for 31 December sell out weeks ahead, and prices are at their annual peak, so decide early whether you want a room or only the party.
Resort packages
The resort belt at Kukas, on the Delhi highway beyond Amer, and the resorts along Ajmer Road sell one- and two-night packages aimed at groups driving in from Delhi and elsewhere. The appeal is that nobody has to drive after midnight. These properties are 40 to 60 minutes from the city, so treat them as a stay, not a drop-in.
Clubs, lounges and rooftops
In the city, C-Scheme has the densest cluster of rooftop bars and lounges, with more in Malviya Nagar, along Gopalpura Bypass and in hotels on Tonk Road. Expect a cover charge that may or may not be redeemable against food and drink, separate couple and stag pricing, and a guest list. Read the terms: many parties are couples-only. A ticketed New Year’s Eve event titled Resolution 2027 is already listed for the city, with its venue still to be announced, and more will follow. Our nightlife listings track them.
Family evenings
Not every New Year’s Eve needs a dance floor. Chokhi Dhani, the village resort on Tonk Road, offers folk music and dance, puppet shows, rides and a Rajasthani dinner on any evening, and it works for three generations at once. Check its website for the 2026 New Year programme and prices. Hotel buffet dinners and some lawn events also admit children. Our kids and family page lists the options with age policies.
What else is on that week
New Year falls in the middle of Jaipur’s busiest fortnight, and several dated events are already on the calendar:
- Jaigarh Heritage Festival, listed from 18 December 2026 at Jaigarh Fort, with passes advertised from โน2,499.
- Jaipur Jewellery Show, 22 to 25 December at JECC in Sitapura, with public hours from 1:30 pm. See our Jewellery Show page.
- Street & Soul Bazaar, a market with live music, food and pop-up stalls at the VT Road ground in Mansarovar, listed as a multi-day event from 23 December 2026 with entry from โน50.
- Christmas, on Friday 25 December, with brunches and mall events. See Christmas in Jaipur.
On the day itself, the usual sights are open and crowded. If you want a quiet countdown, the sunset from Nahargarh Fort on 31 December is as good a way to end the year as any party; just leave before the gates close and the hill road goes dark.
A quieter New Year’s Eve
If a ticketed party is not your idea of a good night, Jaipur has gentler ways to see the year out, and all of them finish well before midnight traffic builds.
- The Amber Fort sound and light show, at 6:30 pm in English and 7:30 pm in Hindi in winter, followed by dinner on the way back into town.
- A night visit to City Palace, open from 7 pm to 10 pm, when the courtyards are lit and far emptier than by day.
- The Jawahar Circle fountain show at 7 pm, then dinner at one of the hotels on the circle.
- An evening show at Raj Mandir, the 1976 single-screen cinema off MI Road. Book ahead, because holiday-week shows fill.
- The Jal Mahal promenade at dusk, which is free and busy with families.
Confirm timings for 31 December itself, since monuments sometimes change hours on holidays.
Rules worth knowing
- Entry policies. Check whether the party is couples-only, what stag entry costs, the minimum age and the dress code. Organisers enforce these at the gate.
- ID. Carry a government photo ID. Venues serving alcohol check age.
- Closing time. The excise department and police set the hours for the night. The venue’s stated end time is the one that counts.
- Drink-driving. Police set up breath-analyser checkpoints across the city on 31 December. Use a cab or a driver.
- Refunds. Most New Year’s tickets are non-refundable. Buy from the organiser’s named ticketing partner, not from resellers.
Getting there and getting home
Jaipur’s metro will not solve New Year’s Eve. The Pink Line runs from Mansarovar to Badi Chaupar and does not reach C-Scheme’s rooftops, JLN Marg, Tonk Road, Sitapura or Kukas, and services end before midnight.
- Book a cab for the return leg in advance, or hire a car and driver for the night. App cabs are scarce and surge-priced between 11:30 pm and 2 am.
- From Kukas or Ajmer Road, assume there will be no cabs at all after midnight unless you have arranged one.
- Allow extra time on Tonk Road and JLN Marg from 8 pm, when most parties open.
- Coming from outside the city? Trains and flights into Jaipur are often delayed by fog in late December. Arrive a day early if you can.
What to wear and carry
Late December is the coldest part of the Jaipur winter, and most parties are outdoors or semi-outdoors. Wear a warm layer you are happy to keep on, and closed shoes for lawns. Carry your ticket QR code, the ID you booked with, a charged phone and some cash.
New Year’s Day
Friday 1 January 2027 starts slowly. The city’s main temples, such as the Moti Dungri Ganesh temple and Govind Dev Ji, typically see long queues on New Year’s morning, so go at dawn or leave it for another day. Hotels run late brunches, and by afternoon the forts are busy again. If you are staying on, January is the best month of the year in Jaipur:
- 8โ12 January: the Jaipur International Film Festival, though the organisers say the 2027 edition is aimed at industry professionals.
- 14 January: the Kite Festival, when the whole city flies kites for Makar Sankranti.
- 14โ18 January: the Jaipur Literature Festival at Hotel Clarks Amer. Our JLF 2027 guide covers registration and logistics.
A simple plan
- By late November: decide the type of night you want and book your room.
- By mid-December: buy party tickets. Early-bird prices end and the best-known galas sell out.
- A few days before: arrange your ride home and check the venue’s entry rules again.
- On the day: eat something beforehand, arrive early to avoid the gate queue, and keep a jacket with you.
